Not everyone can afford to build a million-dollar home, but now you can hire the builder that makes it happen for some of Kansas City’s wealthiest homeowners. Rod Broadhurst, president of R & S Builder, Inc. typically builds custom homes in southern Johnson County, Kansas at prices ranging from $600,000 to $1.8M. As a partner in the Maplewood Place development, he is managing the construction of homes built by The RAND Group.
Nine years ago Broadhurst, an electronics engineer by trade, put his problem-solving skills to a new test by learning what it takes to satisfy the needs of the area’s most discerning homebuyers. Last year, he built many new homes, and the number continues to grow every year, as his reputation for quality and value become widely known.
“Once you work with the materials and people that it takes to build homes at the upper-end price-points, it’s difficult to work without them,” says Broadhurst. “Our homes may be the biggest and most expensive in Maplewood Place, but that also means our homebuyers will be getting more for their money here than in other developments in Gardner.”
We take pride in knowing that the quality of the homes we are building for The RAND Group reflects the care we have also taken as developers to select the most conscientious and value-minded homebuilders the city has to offer, says Broadhurst.
